Parked below Long John Canyon at about 3800 ft.

Started up the canyon and then ascended the west ridge to reach the summit.
Returned on a similar path but took the gully east of point 6666 (not the
greatest descent route).  Eventually jumped out of the gully back onto the
the lower part of the ridge.  Descended further and then jumped off the
ridge again to drop into Long John Canyon.
