Weather was beautiful. Low 60's midday. Light breeze. The hike to Black Mtn requires you to go up and over both Sewart and Snowy. This also means that you have to go back up and over both of these on the way back. Watch out for the yucca plants. Although not a lot, there are a few shady spots between Snowy and Black where the trail tunnels through trees and bushes. It was 4.8 miles from Alamo Mtn TH parking around the West side back to where the road forks near Twin Pines CG.
