Waterman Mountain Twin Peaks Winston Ridge Mount Williamson 12/19/03 Notes: The Waterman/Twin Peaks trail is very nice. The Waterman trail is apparently a loop trail. The slopes are fairly gentle so I ended up going partly cross country, partly on trail, and party on old dirt roads. There seems to be a whole network of old (probably logging) roads on Waterman Moutain. The trails are gentle and wind their way through pleasant forest. Hoping to get both Winston Ridge and Mount Williamson done before I ran out of daylight I pushed hard on those two. GPS Data: Mt Williamson - GPS says 4.54 mi RT (HPS instructions say 3) Waterman & Twin - 9.43 mi RT (HPS says 11 mi) Winston Ridge: 4.39 mi RT (HPS says 2.5 mi) Total Mileage: 18.36 mi RT Gain: 700 + 3200 + 300 + 1560 = 5760' Total Gain HPS distances for Winston Ridge and Mt Williamson must be wrong. Even if you draw the track to Winston Ridge you'll get 2.15 mi or more one way. It also says a gain of 400' which is wrong. It's 400 in + 300 on the return.
