This is the start of the Laurel Lakes road. Trust me, only this first section is this smooth. This road is a bit "challenging" at times.
This is what much of the road looks like. Low clearance vehicles need not apply.
It's not a jeep, but so far my 4runner has gotten me everywhere I needed to go.
The last little bit of the road to the lakes (you don't have to go that far) was blocked by snow. Later in the day at least 4 jeep loads of guys were attempting to clear the road so it should be clear by now.
The Y split is actually further up but you can go to the right here as well. The right side visible here rejoins the main couloir further up just below the Y split.
This constricted spot was a bit icy but could have been avoided.
Here's where the couloir splits in a Y. The right hand side is slimmer and steeper.
Here's a good shot of the right hand fork of the Bloody Couloir.
A little icy here where snow was thin. This was avoidable though if you stayed in the main couloir.
